Our local chain (two stores in Manhattan) with the educational name spreads to Brooklyn. All used records all the time. Even if you aren't a big vinyl buyer if you have any interest in used records at all you're going to find a trip to the rows and rows of LPs at Academy worthwhile.
More of an emphasis on indie-type stuff than any all-vinyl store I've ever seen, and with all the space and the wide aisles you don't get that crowded feel that you get in most Manhattan stores. On my last trip there I found some cool singles and Legionnaires Disease (early 80s Houston hardcore) vinyl I've been waiting two decades to hear. Be prepared to spend some dough because I've never been to a record store that has me reaching for my wallet quicker.
