Lower Avenue A and Area

Good Records

Small place that's nice and clean but I get the same hit that Turntable Lab, Sound Library, and Fat Beats levels me with...that this is a hip hop DJ store. Given that the owner is the kind of nice guy we all pull for, and while the stock is mostly vinyl, on top of the hip hop and break beat stuff there is jazz, latin, reggae, and other kinds of music here. If you're in the area drop in.

The owner Jonny emailed me to and asked that I be sure and let people know that this is not just a hip hop store and that "we stock a lot of music that Fat Beats, Turntable Lab, and The Sound Library would not touch... such as folk, punk, indie rock, traditional African, West Indian, and Brazilian music, straight ahead jazz, and so forth." Even more reason to make a trip to the Lower East Side.
